Why is the name Ocho?
A long story that makes no sense!
For those who know, the Ocho Gambas tour will continue to rein on high!

But for now, Ocho is Ocho

New surroundings

With the new set up succesfully completed, Ocho is enjoying his new surroundings, he had no problems finding the mini hide created from the old bark and slept well in there last night.

Ocho now has objects to climb on and hide behind so may cause some panic when he can't be seen!

Rather than buying a new bulb I have stayed with the small bulb Ocho has already which is heating and lighting the vivarium well, I did however buy some new furniture to adjust the basking area

Ocho is now adjusting to his new surroundings so we will allow him to do that first before the webcam of the live feeding is launched, this is now planned for Sunday or Monday or as soon as Ocho is ready to do so

He is being a little quiet today mainly due to being a busy Saturday in the house, but is coming out to find 1 or 2 hoppers left from his breakfast feed and making the most of them!

Still hoping to get the new bulb today...

Light and Heat for Bearded Dragons

I have been noticing lately that the large spot bulb is producing more heat than light so I have changed it for a smaller conventional bulb in the meantime, tomorrow I will look out for a small spot bulb instead

Its now alot brighter in the vivarium and just hoping that Ocho enjoys it more!

He seems happy enough this evening as he is winding down

Bearded Dragons and skin shedding

Came home this evening and found that Ocho has completed his shed and have a fantastic blend of green and brown new skin over his body
As soon as he saw me he knew it was meal time so prepared his usual food with Curly Kale and Coriander and his live feed of large hoppers with one extra large hopper dusted in calcium

Whats it all about....

This blog is dedicated to Ocho the Bearded Dragon who was born on 15/11/2009, here you will find regular updates of what he (too early to determine but we think its a he) has been doing, recent photos, video, live webcam, feedings and much more

At the moment Ocho is shedding (producing a new layer of skin due to growth), we are helping to assist this with regular misting
